Battle of Montmorency Falls and Wolfe's Revenge
The Battle of Montmorency began when General James Wolfe was beaten by the French. He was very upset with this, and not in the frame of mind to make decisions. With General Wolfe mad and upset, he gives the order to destroy the French. Wolfe leads with his heart. The first troops would begin to advance towards the French lines, and soon they would run in and attack each other. This became an all out war. During the firing the gun powder became wet, and General James Wolfe ordered the retreat. When the retreat was ordered the troops marching from the Montmorency camp, did not yet meet up with the force transported from Ile de Orleans. Soon the British line of red coats were in a 1 mile wide line. When that was seen Montcalm was called over, and over he came. Montcalm army was in shambles and in the end it cost him. The battle was over. 6-700 soldiers are killed during the battle. Even though the battle lasted around 15 minutes it still took a major toll on both armies. The aftermath of the battle was for the French they took it as a moral victory. They did not get what they wanted but they still had nope. As for the English they felt like they were victorious in every aspect. The English are now in Fort Quebec. General James Wolfe is happy as how in his mind, he had gotten his revenge on the French. However the celebration would be short lived as little did they know the battle of both armies lives on the Plains of Abraham was soon to come.
