Rematch, Stalemate, and Surrender
At this point in history Fort Quebec had been over taken by the British soldiers. However the French did not like this, and they wanted to fight back. Soon it was another battle, a rematch, between the French and the British. As the battle raged on it was soon found out that it would be an overall stalemate. The British needed reinforcements and ammunition. The French needed reinforcements, and ammunition. Both armies called home and had boats depart to their location with extra resources. Which ever boat got to the site first, would be the boat of the winning team. On the way there neither ships had a flag raised. If it was known which ship was which, the enemy would attempt to strike down the boat, and each armies knew this. The ships traveled down the St Lawrence River, until soon the armies could see a ship. It had no flag. It docked, and the captain came out and raised a flag to signal whether it was a French ship, or an English ship. It was a British ship! The British had won the war! French surrendered Fort Quebec to the British. Montcalm would soon be forced to hand over the French flag. Instead of handing it over, pride took over and Montcalm burnt all of the French flags so that the British could take none to signify the victory.
